We're excited to announce that another of our custom redesigned homes has been sold! This house had a complete makeover inside and out. This is a great post for you before and after photo junkies, myself included. Eye candy below.
First off, this house needed a huge transformation outside. The exterior received a new roof, gutters and downspouts, a new asphalt driveway, some new windows, a new garage door, landscaping, a patio and a fire pit.
Lots going on outside, but the inside also got a major overhaul. The entryway was dark and depressing. We brightened the space by painting the walls and trim a light color and swapping out the dated light fixture for a modern version. We also refinished the existing hardwood floors that were hidden below disgustingly worn carpet. Finally, we opened the doorway to the kitchen just a bit to allow a better flow between the rooms, as well as allow for a small bar top seating area.
A complete gutting of the existing kitchen was required. The update included installation of maple cabinets, open shelving, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, ceramic tile flooring, fixtures and a stone and glass mosaic backsplash.
The renovation continued into the bathroom, which was also completely gutted and replaced with all new fixtures and finishes. We used white subway tiles laid in a modern stacked pattern in the shower along with a glass mosaic accent tile and deep soaking tub. New ceramic plank tiles on the floor, a new toilet, vanity and fixtures finished it off.
Still more updates were done in the basement which was musty and dingy from sitting vacant for so long. Everything was torn out and then replaced except the ceiling which was left open to give a more lofty, modern feel to the room. New carpet and bright white paint warmed and lightened up the room. An empty space off of the garage was turned into a mud room.
Finally, the backyard got a facelift. The old broken patio was taken up and a new pebble patio was put in its place. Some stones from the front landscaping were used to make a fire pit in the backyard.
All in all a great update to the neighborhood, in my opinion. With some serious coordination between lots of people, we were able to renovate this house in 31 days. Thanks to all of our seasoned contractors for working so well together and our contact at the Colerain Lowes for getting materials lined up and ready for install. Finally, congrats to the new owners! We hope moving day went well! Enjoy!
